Officials of the Ministry of Finance and those of Economy, Planning and Regional Development have revealed that the sum of FCFA 48 billion allocated as Public Investment Budget (PIB) for the North West region for the 2021 financial year will principally be dedicated to ongoing road projects.

The revelation was made by Donatus Taboh Achu Tuesday 12 January 2021 in Bamenda. The MINFI official was speaking while presiding over a ceremony to officially unveil the region’s budget. Aside focusing on the Babadjou-Bamenda and the ring road projects, Achu told stakeholders that the budget will also be used to sponsor the tarring of over 15 kilometre road within Bamenda.
Achu explained that tax incentives given to the treasury and the agricultural sectors would improve performance, facilitate growth and increase yields.
The budget to some people is insufficient given the population of the North West region compared to what is allocated to some divisions in the country other smaller regions.
