Dabanga Boko Haram terrorist attack: Military High Command Salutes Bravery, Swift Response Of Soldiers

The swift response of soldiers in pushing back hundreds of Boko Haram terrorists in a recent attack in Dabanga, a locality near the national road No. 1 along the Waza-Kousseri stretch in Logone and Chari Division, Far North region has been hailed by the military high command. 
The attack Saturday 27 March 2021 which left three person dead, including a soldier and two civilians is said to have lasted several hours as per a release issued by Army Spokesman, Navy Captain Atonfack Guemo Cyrille Serge. 

The release revealed two soldiers were injured with one evacuated to the “Hopital de la Renaissance” in Ndjamena, Chad for emergency neurosurgical treatment.

“After several hours of fierce combat, the attackers were routed, and several of their equipment and weapons confiscated,” the release stated, adding that the hundreds of heavily armed attackers operated on board light tactical vehicles and motorcycles. 

“The troops remain on high alert throughout the Far North region to continue to effectively contain the attacks of the hydra Boko Haram whose manifestations are recurrent,” Atonfack said in the release. 

The Army Spokesman said the attack equally led to the partial destruction of one armored car vehicle of the Cameroonian soldiers, 10 shops and one cargo truck burned down.

He said several of the assailants were neutralized with three abandoned bodies while other bodies were carried away by the terrorists while retreating. 

Six of the Boko Haram tactical vehicles were rendered immobilized while several weapon accessories were recovered according to the MINDEF release.
