June session: Senate President Urges Gov’t To Intensify Mobilization Towards Vaccination

Marcel Niat Njiefenji, President of the Senate has called on government to intensify sensitization and mobilization campaigns to encourage the Covid-19 vaccination throughout the country. He was speaking while chairing the opening of the June session for the house for the 2021 legislative year Tuesday 8 June 2021.

He hailed government for successfully delivery a vaccination programme aimed at rolling back the disease. He said more was needed to gain and maintain public trust on the vaccination. He pledged the support of the senate in assisting government in the sensitization of Cameroonians to receive the virus.

He talked on the recent summit in France to finance hard-hit economies in Africa as a result of the virus. He said the recent agreement signed by government and the International Monetary Fund, IMF goes further to show Cameroon’s sound management of the pandemic.

“I therefore call on other friendly and donor countries to launch such initiatives that will contribute to defeat the pandemic and push the international financial system to strongly support African economies,” Niat appealed.
