The admission was launched August 20 by the President of HIBMAT University Institute to enable students who just passed the GCE Advanced level and Baccalaureate exams to become professionals in different fields.
The school runs the School of Business and Management Sciences (two years for HND and one more year to obtain a Bachelor's degree) where it trains students in Transport and Logistics, Tourism and Hotel Management, Education, Marketing and Trade Sales, Project Management, Assistant Manager, Human Resource Management, Accountancy, Banking and Finance, International Trade, Microfinance and Insurance.
The School of Engineering and Technology (two years for HND and one more year to obtain a Bachelor's degree) offers Computer and Communications Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering, Networks and Telecommunications and Electrical and Electronics Engineering while the School of Health Sciences (three years for the HND and one more year to obtain a Bachelor's degree) trains students in Nursing, Medical Lab Sciences, Midwifery and Pharmacy Technology.
HIBMAT, it should be recalled, recently emerged second best nationwide in the Higher National Diploma, HND exams. The classification was released by the Minister of Higher Education and Chancellor of Academic Orders, Prof Jacques Fame Ndongo.
HIBMAT University Institute of Buea had the recognition after 273 of the 279 of her students who wrote the HND exams passed in flying colours. The figures, according to the Ministry of Higher Education, showed a success rate of 97.85%, putting the school the second position nationwide in terms of performance.
With commitment to continue training students to answer to the demands of the job market, HIBMAT, it should be added, has remained consistent in recording excellent results in national exams thanks to its resolve to maintain quality and education standards with unflinching mission to train highly sought-after business, engineering and health professionals.
