Kumba Massacre: Visiting Ministers Ignore Crime Scene, Injured Victims In Hospitals

Inhabitants of Kumba in Meme Division have been asking questions as to why the inter-ministerial delegation dispatched by Chief Dion Ngute, Prime Minister, Head of Government for an on-the-spot assessment of the gruesome killing and injuring of students visited and left the city without making a stop at the scene where the incident took place or hospitals where injured victims are undergoing treatment.

The delegation led by Minister Atanga Nji Paul of Minister of Territorial Administration also had the Ministers of Basic and Secondary Education, Profs. Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa and Nalova Lyonga respectively. 

The three ministers after making their first stopover at the Buea Regional Hospital where two of the wounded students are undergoing intensive care headed for Kumba in Meme Division. 

The ministers spent hours in Kumba without visiting the Mother Francisca International Bilingual Academy where the incident took place. Hundreds of inhabitants who queued up whole day waiting for the ministers were disappointed. 

Surprisingly, the ministers did not also visit the Kumba District Hospital and the Presbyterian General Hospital where over ten of the students who were injured in the course of the attack are receiving treatment.
  
This is said to have left many inhabitants of Kumba surprise. Many how questioned why a delegation sent to the field to get facts will leave without getting to scene of a crime or families of victims.  


Atanga Nji however told parents of the wounded children who were invited at the Divisional office in Kumba to take heart and have hope. He reminded them that they are not alone in their pains as the entire nation is with them in the difficult moment.
 
He assured the parents government will do all to ensure their kids are treated free and see into it that the kid resume schools with their security and that of others assured. 

The Ministers in a meeting with elite and the population of Kumba at the city council hall revealed that the hideous crime was committed to create fear and panic in students and prevent in order to kill back-to-school steam.  


They called on the population to federate forces with the security and defense forces in order to combat the pockets of resistances still put up by the separatist fighters.
