Members of the Upper House of Assembly have appealed to foreign countries hosting those calling the shots in the ongoing killings in the two Anglophone regions to help Cameroon arrest them for them to pay for their crimes.
The appeal was made on behalf of the Senators by the Senior Vice President, Aboubakary Abdoulaye. He was speaking while chairing the opening session of the November session while sitting in for President of the Senate, Marcel Niat Njifenji.
Abdoulaye condemned the attack on innocent students of Mother Francisca International Bilingual Academy in Kumba which left seven students dead and over 13 injured and called for the arrest of the perpetrators of the hideous acts so they can face justice.
He disclosed that the session will be dedicated to the examination and adoption of an ambitious 2021 state budget that will help revamp the country’s economy which has been slowdown as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic like elsewhere in the world.
He called for fruitful exchanges and collaboration with government so that parliament can effectively carry out in job of voting laws and scrutinizing government action.
The solemn opening was attended by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute and other cabinet Ministers alongside some members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Yaoundé.
