As part of his vision to ensure the effective classes across his constituency, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Donga  Mantung  Central, has  offered  the sum  of  FCFA  one  million to assist in equipping the newly created Government  Technical College,  (GTC),  Tabenken  in  the Nkambe  Central  Subdivision.

Hon. Ngala Gerard

The amount according to Hon Ngala Gerard will help the school authorities to acquire benches and some basic didactic materials to set the school effective.

“Hon  Ngala  Gerard  has  sent  me here  with  a  message;  that  I  should congratulate  you  for  the  bold  step taken  to  pursue  your  education.  He has  asked  me  to  tell  you  people  to take  your  education  seriously because  he  wants  that  in  the  future, we  should  have  engineers,  teachers and  many  other  professionals  trained in  Government  Technical  College Tabenken,” said Ngie  Prudence, alternate to Ngala Gerard while handing over the money.

She congratulated the population for shunning fear to send their kids and challenged all and sundry to remain extremely vigilant to their environment.

Officials of the council and the pioneer principal of the college hailed the gesture, adding that it is a stick in time that saves nine.

“What  the  MP  has  done  will  go  a long  way  to  facilitate  the  teaching learning  process  for  the  students…we are  very  grateful,  the  students  are happy,  the  population  of  Tabenken  is happy.  I  will  like  to  send  appreciation to  the  MP  for  the  good  work  he  is doing  to  see  that  his  own  homeland grows,”  said the pioneer  principal  of the college.

“What  the  Member  of  Parliament has  done  for  this  newly-created school  that  we  have  been  crying  for  is way  forward  for  the  school  to  start very  well,” noted Njobe  Cletus, an elite of the area.

The donation adds to other donations he recently did in the Division to boost effective start of classes and to help lessen the burden of getting school kits for pupils and students to parents.
