Government has begun a nationwide distribution of support to some beneficiaries President Biya’s Three-Special Special Youth Program.
The support is handed over to the youth across the ten regions by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education.
The exercise was launched in Douala in the Littoral region by Minister Mounouna Foutsou. The items comprise farm tools including wheelbarrows, grinding mills and office equipment and stationery.
Mounouna urged the youth to make effective use of the items in in realizing their projects and improve not only on their economic situation but create greater impact in their communities.
He used the opportunity to visit some of the projects in the Douala II subdivision, Bomono aquaporin farm where he observed and appreciated the reality of clusters and the ingenuity of the youth who have focused their activity in the agro-pastoral sector.
He later moved to the South West region a similar exercise was carried out. The minister made a stop at the South West Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Centre words of encouragement were given to some ex-separatist combatants being trained on income-generating activities.
The aid in the region included financial assistance ranging from FCFA 1.5-5 million, motor bikes, wheel barrows, chain saws, mini tractor, and poultry equipment among others to over 40 beneficiaries.
