A notorious self-styled separatist commander popularly known as ‘General’ Goddy hitherto operating in villages along the Kumba-Mbonge road has officially dropped his weapons and surrendered to officials of Meme Administration.

Goddy who pledged to do all he can to lure others who were deceived like him to leave the bushes and join the DDR for their preparation for reintegration was presented to the reporters in Kumba, Tuesday 2 March 2021.The repentant combatant asked forgiveness from Cameroonians and called on his peers to to give peace a chance and listen to the peace call from the president of the Republic, Paul Biya.
“I stand here today to make it known that I, General Goddy, who has been a whole big General in Amba…I have been doing things but today, I have decided that the work we have been doing is not good. It will not help us. Violence is not the solution to the problems,” he said.
“I want to plead with all my brothers in the bushes that they should put down their hearts, kneel down in front of our parents and beg them and promise not to do such mistakes again. We need future. While in the bushes, our people, our civilians are crying. I don’t want this Amba thing to continue. Let us leave all these things. Those sending us are in the US, eating their money and driving big cars. They were not able to take care of us properly. Some of us grew up in good ways but today we don’t even see where and what we want to become," he said.
Reacting to the decision of the ex-fighter to drop his weapon, the SDO for Meme, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong called on those still in the bushes still carrying arms to listen to President Biya’s call.
“…this is my child who has decided to hear and to follow what the father of the nation has said. He was a big Amba general in Kwakwa. All those things started in Kwakwa. He commander Kwakwa, Nake, Bole, all the road right down. He has decided to surrender and to join us in the reconstruction of our beloved Meme Division,” the administrator said.
Belgium-based Ambazonia leader/activist in an outing via his social media platforms said General Goddy was amongst those who started Amba in Meme.
“He was one of the very FIRST batch of Amba boys that were recruited in December of 2016 and trained in Nigeria in March 2017 by the Nigerian Militants and Occultists and Bayelsa Boys. General Goddy was operating in Kwakwa, Kake and Bole. He was amongst the group of our Amba Boys who kumkumisation {killed} the Police inspector in Kombone Town. He has been an Amba Fighter since from the inception when they, including late General Ivo Mbah, late General Divine, General Machine and Nambere helped to set up Amba boys throughout Fako/Meme,” disclosed the activist.
