Oath-taking ceremony: Centre Regional Council President Tasked To Properly Lead Local Dev’t

The pioneer President of the Regional Council for the Centre region has been urged to properly play his role in spearheading local development within the region.

The directives were given to Gilbert Tsimi Evouna Wednesday 13 January 2021 by the President of the President of the Court of Appeal during the solemn oath-taking ceremony.

Speaking while presiding over the ceremony, Chief Justice Christine Mekoulou Cunegonde Ngoty, charged Tsimi Evouna to pay keen interest on sustainable environmental management.
The former Government Delegate to the Yaounde City Council was reminded to carry out his functions in strict respect of the law and in the spirit of the oath. 

He was urged to ensure collaboration with the different stakeholders of the region in fast-tracking effective implementation of the decentralisation process. 
Tsimi, a renowned architect credited for modernising Yaounde while he served as Government Delegate for over two decades will in cooperation with other collaborators take charge of the socioeconomic, cultural, environmental and sports development of the Centre region. 

The son of Oyom-Abang born in 1944 who doubles as Treasurer of the Central Committee of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM Party promised to use his rich experience in living up to expectations. 

“…it is a very difficult task with enormous expected from us but we will use our rich experience to satisfy the population of the centre region,” he assured. 
The oath-taking was witnessed by many elite from the Centre including cabinet ministers, Members of the Constitutional Council led by its President, Clement Atangana, MPs, among many others.
