It was during the opening the ministry’s two day annual conference grouping personnel at the central and devolved services during which she disclosed the COVID-19 pandemic has continued to be a vector of vulnerabilities in the country.

The Minister said the conference will serve as an opportunity to reflect and project the contribution of the ministry towards the national response strategy against the pandemic while effectively implementing the national development strategy for 2030.

She disclosed that priority will be on how to continue providing multiform care to at least 1000 street children and 1000 elderly persons nationwide.

The Minister stressed the need for a guide on education for behavioural change and to continue the fight against stigma and discrimination against persons living with disabilities and the vulnerable indigenous population.

The annual conference held under the theme “the contribution of the ministry of social affairs in the management of the social and economic repercussions of the COVID-19 within the context of the national development strategy for 2030”.
