North Region: Population Mourns Deceased Regional Council President, Alim Boukar

The population of the North region are still in shock following sad news on the demise of their pioneer Regional Council President. Alim Boukar, 60, died in the evening hours of Monday 29 March 2021.
The retired senior customs official is said to have been suffering from kidney failure. He dies barely three months after his election at the head of the North Regional Council. He got 88 of the 90 votes cast during the election 22 December 2020.

He and members of his executive were installed into their functions to man the socioeconomic development affairs of the North region by Governor Abate Edi’i Jean 22 January this year.  

The graduate of the National School of Administration and Magistracy, ENAM, retired as Head of the National Investigation Brigade of Customs after holding several other positions of responsibility. 

The bigwig of the CPDM party in the North also had a stint with the Cameroon Telecommunication, CAMTEL from December 1999 to March 2005 as Director of Administrative Affairs and Human Resources. He was the Charge de Mission number 1 of the Permanent Delegation of the CPDM Central Committee for the North Region.
