Manaounda said particular attention is being paid to the conduct of the preventive actions and the intensification of the vaccination campaign which has seen more than 60 000 people already vaccinated.

He added that Cameroon has so far recorded 78 929 cases of infections with 1275 deaths, 73 974 people cured. He said the epidemiological curve shows a 1.6% fatality rate and a cure rate of 93.3%.

Manaouda said the analysis of the epidemic curve shows a continuous decline in the number of cases since March 2021 but called on all and sundry to continue the respect of barrier measures.

At the end of the meeting, the PM instructed the minister to continue the screening and vaccination campaign against COVID-19. The nationwide inoculation campaign targets 5 million citizens (20% of the population).
