2021 pilgrimage amidst COVID-19: MINAT, Saudi Ambassador Discuss Travel Chances For Cameroonians

The possibilities of having few Cameroonians pilgrims take the annual trip to Mecca for pilgrimage despite the COVID-19 odds has come under review. Discussions to this effect to centre stage during an audience granted Territorial Administration Minister and Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Cameroon.
Minister Paul Atanga Nji and H.E Abdalelah Mohammed A. Alsheaiby exchanged ideas on a vast number of topics including preventive measures that will be determined by the Ministry of Public Health and the National Hajj Commission to allow a limited number of Muslims to take part in the pilgrimage to Mecca.

They agreed that apart from the COVID-19 vaccine, those selected for the trip will present evidence of other inoculations like meningitis, polio, yellow fever and influenza. The MINAT and the Saudi diplomat also touched on bilateral ties between the two countries.
Abdalelah disclosed that a delegation of Saudi personalities will visit Cameroon in the days ahead to concretize the arrangements. He equally used the opportunity to thank the Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya, for granting them a piece of land on which their embassy will be build.
