Territorial Administration minister has urged the new Lamido of Garou to promote and uphold living and social cohesion values is the exercise of his duties. Paul Atanga Nji was speaking during an audience he granted Ibrahim Souleymanou El Rachidine Monday 7 June 2021 at the ministry.
The audience marked the first official outing of the 38-year-old army captain since ascending to the throne as the 15th traditional ruler of Garoua. Atanga used the audience to hand him his official attributes as well as President Paul Biya’s letter of congratulatory.
Talking to reporters after the audience, the Lamido lauded government’s efforts in ensuring peace reigns in his area of command before, during and after his election as new leader.
“I promised to be an exemplary leader as I pledge to work in collaboration with the local and administrative authorities for the wellbeing and security of the population which I have been called upon to head,” the Souleymanou pledged. He took over following the death of Alim Garga Hayatou, former Secretary of State at the Ministry of Public Health in charge of Epidemics and Pandemics.
