The General Manager of Cameroon’s incumbent telecom operator, Cameroon Telecommunications, CAMTEL, has put smile of the faces of ex-separatist fighters at the North West Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) Centre.
Judith Yah Sunday Epse Achidi in a visit to the NW DDR Centre in her motherly style, lauded the ex-fighters for heeding to President Paul Biya’s appeal for them to leave the bushes, join the state for peace and participate in the reconstruction of the region they so cherish.
She encourage ex-combatants to lure their peers still in the bushes and a total return to peace and normalcy.
The CAMTEL boss in the course of the visit donated a consignment of foodstuff, laundry soap, toiletries and other basic commodities among others to the ex-fighters to assist them in their daily activities while learning a trade in the centre for their own wellbeing.
Yah Sunday assured the repentant fighters of her unflinching resolve to support them in their social reinsertion drive.
The visibly happy ex-combatants jumped for joy as they received the food items and express their gratitude to the CAMTEL boss.
They pledged to join President Biya’s vision for a one and indivisible Cameroon and to be ambassadors of peace.
They also promised to do all they can to lure their friends still in the bushes to drop their arms and join in the peace process.
