Inclusive End-of-Year Celebrations: CAMTEL GM, Judith Yah Sunday Donates To IDPs Living With Disabilities In NWR

The General Manager of Cameroon Telecommunications, CAMTEL, has put smiles on the faces of internally displaced persons living with disabilities in the North West Region capital, Bamenda as a result of the ongoing Anglophone crisis.

Judith Yah Sunday Epse Achidi handed the consignment of items to enable the IDPs with special needs celebrate the end-of-year festivities with ease and in happiness in a ceremony at the Bamenda II Sub Divisional office Thursday 24 December 2020. 
The consignment comprised food items and other basic necessities including rice, vegetable oil, soap, toilet tissue, tomatoes, and salt among others. Speaking at the occasion, Judith Yah Sunday said the gesture follows difficulties faced by the beneficiaries as a result of the crisis. 

"…some of the children here face difficulties to raise funds and go to school. So I decided to put hands together with the DO of Bamenda II to see how to pay some of their fees, and also buy some didactics for them to be able to go to school effectively," she told reporters. 

She urged the beneficiaries to be visionary, engage in self-sustaining activities as well as support of the Queen mothers of the region in their fight to see an end to the ongoing crisis.

The Divisional Officer of Bamenda II, Nicholas Nkongho, on his part saluted the gesture of the GM and the other North West Queen Mothers and on behalf of the beneficiaries appealed for more support to assist IDPs with special including like hearing aids, need for wheelchairs, crouches, among others in the domain of education. 
 
The beneficiaries expressed joy and thanked the GM and others for thinking of them and putting smile in their faces during the festive period. Judith Yah Sunday assured the IDPs through the DO that the other needs of the IDPs will be taken care of in their next intervention. 

Worth recalling is the fact that Judith Yah Sunday Epse Achidi few weeks back visited and donated food items to ex-separatist fighters in the NW and lauded them for heeding to President Paul Biya’s appeal to leave the bushes, join the state for peace and participate in the reconstruction of the region they so cherish. She encourage ex-combatants to lure their peers still in the bushes and a total return to peace and normalcy.
