The management of Cameroon Telecommunications, CAMTEL, has handed over hundreds of gifts to children of its staff to ensure memorable end-of-year festivities. This gifts were handed to the over 300 children of CAMTEL staff all between the ages of one to ten years in Yaounde Wednesday December 21.

Each of the kids selected from staffs’ families bagged home educative toys and other gadgets matching their respective genders and ages. The first category of beneficiaries ranged from zero to five years and the second group from six to 10 years.

Speaking at the ceremony, CAMTEL’s 2nd Technical Adviser, Fadimatou Aboubakar, who represented the company’s General Manager, Judith Yah Sunday Epse Achidi, described the event as a sign of the company’s dedication to respecting its decade-old tradition of putting smiles on the faces of its personnel during festive periods and beyond.
“This event, as I stated, is a tradition for CAMTEL in line with its social responsibilities and its dedication to bringing joy and smiles to its personnel by organizing these activities during end-of-year festive periods” Fadimatou Aboubakar said.
She said the event was also a special occasion to enable the structure to renew its ever-improving engagement of providing conducive working conditions with its staff across all categories.
“Dear colleagues, parents and children, through this celebration as done traditionally, CAMTEL is renewing its engagement to its personnel through the implementation of the Change Management and Customer Centricity introduced by top management” she stated.
“Also, since we are never satisfied with what we have, CAMTEL through my voice, reassures its personnel that despite the circumstances, it will always be beside its collaborators and other staff to continue bettering the working conditions of the staff” she concluded.
Evaluating a successfully hectic 2022
CAMTEL has experienced what has been described as an activity-filled year championed by the structure’s new main projects, the new brand, Blue and the National Roaming Service and its certification.
The company’s Blue service, operating its mobile network and SIM cards has gained ground mainly during the year 2022 with the service reaching millions of the structures’ users through the fast 4G service.
CAMTEL also recorded another achievement this year through the certification of its ISO 9001/2015 system.
The certification bagged in May this year, displayed the structure’s strength in quality management system in consistently providing high-quality products and services meeting its demands and requirements of its standards in compliance with legal and regulatory demands as prescribed during its creation over five years ago.
The company also recently launched its National Roaming Service in partnership with MTN Cameroon, enabling its subscribers across the national territory to remain connected to mobile network services by automatically switching to MTN’s network in areas not yet covered by CAMTEL.
Fadimatou Aboubakar said the event to donate to children of staff was also gave the structure a unique opportunity to take a retrospective look and evaluation of all the above mentioned successes recorded by the company in the course of the year 2022.
“This celebration is also a major opportunity to evaluate CAMTEL’s activities notably during this year that will soon be ending. In regard to that, I can say with pride that we have an impressive balance sheet this year. Blue, the new commercial brand is gradually but surely gaining ground in mobile telecommunication service delivery through its various offers” she said.
“We also have other victories that we have been able to record this year which include the certification of CAMTEL by the government through conventions that were signed to exploit mobile and fixed networks. Another success recorded was the huge brand built through the optic services which has improved the quality of our services especially through the Blue brand” she concluded.
The event was graced by animation and dances which enabled the children to smile home with their parents.
