The MINAT held closed door security meetings with all the administrative authorities and top security officials of the region to have firsthand knowledge of her the region is fairing ahead of the polls.

Minister Atanga Nji said that the regional election is another step in fast-tracking the decentralization process and the progressive putting into place of republican institutions.

He said the ministry as the state agent in the election process has to accompany Election Cameroon (ELECAM) with adequate security to ensure the process is hitch free before, during and after.

He also used the visit to sensitise commercial motorbike riders to abide by the law, given that some of them are wayward and often manipulated by some unscrupulous politicians.

The Minister also visited and extended the Head of State’s message of condolence to victims of the recent fire incident in Guider, Mayo Louti Division, which claimed the lives of 13 persons of same family.

He told the bereaved family to remain strong as the government and the entire nation is standing with them at such a very difficult moment of the unfortunate situation.

He promised them that government will stand by them and that investigation has been opened to ascertain the cause of the fire disaster. Among the 13 people who died as a result of the fire incident are a pregnant woman and a set of twins.
