Personnel of the Ministry of Public Health have been hailed for their determination to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Cameroon.

This remarks were made by the Secretary of State in Charge of Epidemics and Pandemics, Alim Hayatou said the fight against the spread of the virus remains a challenged which should be addressed alongside other health issues.He was speaking Friday 8 January 2021 while commissioning some newly promoted personnel of the ministry who were appointed 21 December 2020 into their functions.

He urged them to be professional, duty conscious, determined, devoted and loyal as they carry out their professional duties, virtues which he said will enable them better fight the COVID-19 and contribute to making health care accessible to all Cameroonians. He called on the staff to avoid administrative bottlenecks which may impede access to quality health care for populations in rural areas.
While urging them to make maximum use of resources put at their disposal, the Secretary of State assured them of the support of the Minister in the accomplishment of their mission.
He exhorted them to exhibit friendly and collaborative attitude with their new collaborators and ensure respect of hierarchy in all they do.
One of the over 15 newly appointed personnel, Mbua Emmanuel, promoted to the rank of Second Assistant Research Officer expressed gratitude to the Minister for observing his inputs into the public health family and promised to do his utmost as far as contributing to the health of Cameroonians is concern.
