-Governor challenges NW, SW IDPs to be law-abiding, respect host communities

46-year-old Emmanuel Mariel Djikdent has been officially commissioned into his functions as new Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) of Mfoundi Division. He was commissioned into his functions Wednesday 6 January 2020 by Centre Governor, Naseri Paul Bea.

Buea challenged the new senior civil administrator to immediately get to work and launch a fierce fight against urban disorder, criminality, banditry, violence in the school milieu, clandestine transportation as a matter of utmost urgency. The Governor also instructed the SDO to whom he described as an old name in the Division, having served as First Assistant SDO for Mfoundi and SG at the Governor’s office in the Centre to meticulously follow-up ongoing construction works notably projects to host continental football competitions, the Yaounde-Douala AutoRoute, electrification among many others.
Bea advised the SDO to use his wisdom, levelheadedness in handling issues related to the complex elite of Mfoundi and civil servants serving in the Division as well as other state officials especially as the Division place host to the seat of power.
He urged the new administrator to ensure proper follow-up of chieftaincy issues through DOs under his, ensure strict respect of COVID-19 barrier measures through his forces of law and order as well as ensure improving of hygiene and sanitation.
Bea used the installation to call on internally displaced Anglophones living in the Division to be law-abiding, stay out of trouble and ensure to respect their host communities. He encouraged those willing to return to their villages to register themselves with the ministry of Territorial Administration so as to be assisted by the ministry to go back home.
Appointed 18 December 2020, Djikdent replaces Jean Claude Tsila who died in active service August 12 2020 after an illness. Before his appointed, Djikdent was serving as SDO for Mefou and Afamba.
The indigene of the Upper Nyong Division, East region holds a Master’s Degree in law alongside a Diploma in Public Administration from the National School of Administration and Magistracy.
