Ateasong Beltus Tajoah, ex-separatist fighter with the Lebialem-based Red Dragons now at the Buea Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) Centre has promised that he and other former separatist fighters from Lebialem and youth from the area will invade the Division and neutralise their former boss, Field Marshal for continuous acts atrocities on the innocent population.
The ex-combatant made the pronouncements Tuesday 16 February 2021. He was speaking as representative of youth from Lebialem Division during an organised protest at the National Museum to condemn the barbaric killing of three traditional rulers by Field Marshal.
“The atrocities of Oliver Lekeaka are now out of hand. We will fight back. We know all the forest in Lebialem. We will look for him. Just wait for us,” Ateasong promised his former commander.
He said they will comb all the Lebialem forest to not only kill Field Marshal fish out all the bad seeds wreaking havoc in the Division.
The former fighter said he and many other youth were lured into joining the armed group before realising half way that it was all a scam with sole aim for Field Marshal and Chris Anu to enrich themselves through ransoms.
Some traditional rulers from the Division led by the Fon of Fontem who attended the protest also joined their voice to condemn the killing of their colleagues and other atrocities perpetrated by the armed groups.
They call for return to peace, normalcy and cautioned those in the diaspora fanning the flames of the conflict through financial contributions to think of their suffering population back home.
The three chiefs it should be recalled were killed Saturday 13 February 2021 by Field Marhal and his gang of fighters under the instructions of his elder brother Christopher Anu.
