Reward for honest hard work: Biya Raises Police Commissioner Njumenjikang To NW Regional Delegate Of National Security

The President of the Republic, Paul Biya has rewarded the Commissioner of the Kumba Central Police Station for his honest hard work done in Kumba for years now. Commissioner of Police Wilson Elong Njumenjikang was promoted to the post of North West Regional Delegate of National Security.
His promotion is contained in a presidential decree signed Thursday 18 March 2021 by President Paul Biya.

Njumenjikang who has put in over five years at the Kumba Central Police Station has been considered by many as the architect and brain behind the peace and serenity that reigned in Kumba before the start of the Anglophone crisis.

The ‘Knight of the National Order of Merit’ was credited by many for his level-headed and community policing at the start of the crisis through his open door policy and dialogue with the population at the early phase of the crisis that has now morphed into an armed conflict.

He transformed Kumba, a town well known nationally for harboring criminals, conmen into a seeming peace haven before the crisis.

Njumenjikang has all along the ongoing Anglophone crisis stood out tall in the maintenance of peace despite the violence that has engulfed his area of command like many other areas across the two Anglophone regions.

He cautioned his elements against perpetrating violence on the population and this gained him much admiration and confidence amongst majority of Kumba city dwellers.

This synergy and collaboration with the population helped him in dismantling many separatist armed gangs that harassed and extorted Kumba residents.

Njumenjikang transformed Kumba into a peace haven to the surprise of many. The level headed security boss has use his tact to storm and dismantle all gangs of armed bandits in Kumba.

Dreaded neighbourhoods across Kumba like Kosala and certain parts of Fiango that used to be no go zones even within the day have become peaceful residential areas thanks to his ceaseless war of banditry.

Added to the above is the fact that the population has attested to the good works of the commissioner and praised him for stopping day light attacks and banditry on churches, homes, cases of stolen motorbikes, public harassment, tramadol and marijuana consumption all see as things of the past.

The most dreaded motorbike sector in Kumba that use to give sleepless nights to successive Meme administrators have been schooled on public behavior and brought to order thanks to the security savvy of the Kumba police boss.

Conscious of the dangers that accompany illicit sale fuel in Kumba, Commissioner Njumenjikang has been on constant battle with ‘zoa-zoa’ dealers.

His relentless war on the sale of illicit fuel has greatly reduced the number of ‘zoa-zoa’ sales points that had arguably inundated every corner in Kumba.
