Falai kulu, 62, is among the close to 72 000 candidates siting in for the written phase of the 2021 session of the Probatoire General examinations at Lycee Djambotou in Garoua, North Region.
The Chamba native who is on record as the oldest candidate to sit for official examinations this year believes cannot be a barrier to education which he said will propel him further to easily attain his life goals. The father and grandfather believes pushing through academics will be sure way of attaining his political ambition.
“In Cameroon you have to be academically standing tall to be somebody. I am not writing Probatoire because I need a job. I am just cultivating my mind,” Falai revealed, adding he plans to go further than obtaining just a Probatoire.
“I won’t end at Probatoire. I will sit up to the level of Baccalaureate,” he disclosed while appreciating the methodology adopted by his teachers throughout the preparation.
Age to him is just a number as he feels uncomfortable writing with other candidates who are of the same age with his grandchildren. Few absences were recorded during the exams in the region and as it unfolded in strict respect of anti-Covid-19 barrier measures.
