He said away from the structures official Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts, it has added TikTok, a social network increasingly been used by young Cameroonian Internet users as the fourth social media platform through which Elecam can be connected to Cameroonians.

He said the through the platforms, Elecam will have diversified presence to enhance and increase visibility of its activities, get closer to the public, expand its virtual community, build a real E-reputation among others.

He explained that the launch comes rekindle the online presence of the Elecam months after they went offline following the hacking of the institutions Facebook page in the year 2020.

“In the aftermath of a criminal incident on its Facebook page, it was therefore proper for a similar information mechanism to be deployed at the reopening of ELECAM’s platform, in the form of a widespread mediatisation design to dispel any confusion in the minds of citizens” Essousse explained, stating that special measures have been taken to reinforce security and protection against cybercrimes.

"We will return to our usual themes: registration on the electoral lists and the withdrawal of cards, among others. In two months, we will stop the registration campaign on the lists," explained Essousse. These new tools, he said should allow Elecam to enroll more people of voting age and help meet their set goals.
