2021 CHAN: CAF Delegation Rounds Inspection Visit On Satisfactory Note

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) inspection team that was in Cameroon to inspect sites to host the 2021 African Nations Championship (CHAN) has rounded their visit with satisfaction on Cameroon’s level of preparedness. 


The delegation was led by CAF Vice President, Constance Omari. The team inspected during their five day stay in the country visited the host sites in Yaounde, Douala, Limbe and Buea, cities to play host to the competition. 


They evaluated level of works done on the various stadiums, training grounds, hotels earmarked for the competition. Particular attention was paid on the training grounds that were used to erect COVID-19 training centres where maintenance works are underway.

The CAF team demanded a weekly report with pictures on the unfolding of the maintenance works on the various sites in Douala and in Buea and Limbe. 

The visit is said to be their last. The competition is which was rescheduled for 2020 was pushed to 2021 because of the outbreak of the Coronavirus.  

It is scheduled to begin in January 2021 with an opening match between Cameroon and Zimbabwe.
