I hereby seize the opportunity to invite the Mayors of the towns that will host the various pools of the African Championship to give their towns a facelift,” Dion Ngute instructed.
The Head of government added that it is incumbent on the Mayors not only to intensify clean-up campaigns but to beautify the towns concerned in order to give our guests the warmest welcome.
He disclosed that in prelude to the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations, Government will: refurbish and construct roads and access routes to stadia; construct hotels as well as complete the interconnection of the various sites to the various networks.
He called on all stakeholders involved to pay special attention to respecting the deadlines for completing construction work on the East wing of the City of Douala, which will equally be the main access point into the Japoma Sports Complex and the Yaounde-Nsimalen motorway, to ease traffic at the entrance of the capital city, Yaoundé.
