“All the election material and documents were made available, in sufficient quality, in the polling stations, and the local polling commissions were all at work. No major incident was reported to my office across the national territory,” revealed Essousse.
He said the voting took place nationwide in calm, order, discipline and in restrict respect of COVID-19 barrier measures in 272 polling stations comprising 117 for municipal councillors and 155 for traditional rulers.
Essousse said in accordance with the law, the polls opened at 8am and closed at 6pm, adding that there were a total of 24 241 electors comprising 10 236 municipal councillors and 14 005 traditional rulers.
