The instruction was given by the SDO of Moungo Division, Yves Bertrand Njana while commissioning the new civil administrator into his functions. The new DO takes over from Fuh Amstrong, transferred to serve in Tiko Subdivision, Fako Division in the South West region.

“Be careful with people who will came to mislead you under the guise of informants. You have to declare a merciless war against youth drug consumption, banditry and attacks from the SWR,” the SDO advised.

To recall is the fact that separatist fighters from neighbouring Muyuka Subdivision, have years made attacks some neighbourng localities of the Subdivision, harassing villagers and sometimes making away with items.

In her welcome address, Mbanga Mayor, Ejaka Endale Hariette outlined the challenges of the municipality that harbours 35 000 inhabitants ranging from infrastructure, health, security and social cohesion to the new DO.

“The population of Mbanga lack farm-to-market roads. The Subdivision has seven health units with one district hospital. The district has many including insufficient equipment, lack of personnel like gynecologist, pediatric and sergeants all transferred without replacement,” the Mayor said, adding that the issue of potable drinking water is also a major concern of the locals.
