After historic performance: World Heavyweight Champion, Francis Nganou Gets Hero’s Welcome

President Paul Biya’s letter of congratulation and a symbolic envelop has officially been handed to 34-year-old Cameroonian mixed martial artist, Nganou Francis following his return home to celebrate his exploits with his country.
The letter and envelop were handed to the son of Batie in the West region whose determination saw him emerge as first African to win the Ultimate Fighting Championship, UFC Heavyweight title in Las Vegas, USA, in a ceremony at the ministry of Sports and Physical Education.

Narcisse Mouelle Kombi used the ceremony to praise Nganou’s fighting spirit and patriotism. He said world heavyweight champion is a shining example that will inspire other young people never to relent in their efforts.

Before his courtesy stop at the ministry of sports to present his belt, the Predator as he is popularly known had received a hilarious welcome upon arrival in Douala. Nganou was received by Littoral Governor and also escorted in a guided tour to present his belt to the population.
