“…the military men were attacked by separatist fighters. We registered four deaths, on the part of the military men as well as one who is seriously wounded,” revealed Awa Fonka who expressed the sympathy of the entire hierarchy to the families of the bereaved soldiers.

“It is again an opportunity for us to ask fellow Cameroonians the reason of all these. The Head of State has stretched an olive branch and has requested for dialogue. Why do we continue killing ourselves in this manner? It is really regrettable and it is an act condemned,” Awa Fonka said.

Separatist fighters from the NWR have on several occasions attacked neighbouring localities in the West region. This January 2021 an attack was carried out at a checkpoint that borders the North West and West regions leaving some security elements dead and others wounded.
