Hundreds of mourners over the weekend in strict respect of anti-COVID-19 barrier measures prescribed by government, joined the General Manager of Cameroon Telecommunications, CAMTEL, Judith Yah Sunday Epse Achidi, to bid sad good-bye to her late father, retired Lt Colonel Sunday Lawrence Nfor.
The burial in Bamenda follows one month of mourning by his beloved family in Montreal, Canada where he died and back home. The eldest daughter, Judith Yah Sunday before leading the family to Bamenda for burial had organized a month of mourning, vigils at her Yaounde bastos residence where colleagues, friends, well-wishers, joined in mourning the departed.
The inconsolable family members, friends, relatives and mourners throughout the funeral took time off to recall pleasant moments they shared with their late father, brother, uncle, friend, as well as lament the vacuum his departure has created.
“An exceptional father, you were! News of your demise last February 10 in Montreal Canada came to us as a bomb blast. We your children and the rest of the family are yet to come to terms with the fact that you are gone for good. Oh death, what cruelty?,” partly read the eulogy of the eldest daughter, the GM of CAMTEL, who on behalf of her siblings regretted why the death happened at a time they had all heeded to their dad’s request to fly him back home.
“We had already finalized arrangements for one of us to come accompany you back to Cameroon, the country of your birth, the country of your ancestors and the country you served selflessly in all honor and loyalty. Separation has never been this gruesome and unbearable. Your love for us your children and family was untainted and inestimable,’ Judith Yah eulogized as she described her father as a true father, promising to ensure his legacy lives on.
